We’re still in this infernal room. Brace tries his sword of sunlight to no avail. He tries to find some info in the spell book, taking some time to really paw through the pages.
As Brace is looking through the book, Endrid walks up to a brazier and lays her hands on the red hot braziers. [[3 damage.]]
Rhada tries to communicate with their dark master to see if they know anything about these runes.
Trieskan feels around on the walls, hoping nothing bad happens.
Ireena update: Ireena is looking pretty rough, def about to be hungover from the funeral party
Brace has been staring at the book that he has no business reading, some pages are absolutely beyond his comprehension. He does manage to figure out this is the teleportation spot for whoever’s book this is.
Trieskan noticed some of the glyphs on the walls are the same he thinks, and as he gets close to the door Bingdor made he hears some warewolf noises, from a lot of warewolves.
Rhada can’t figure out the circle, but is drawn to the note.
Endrid remembers pneumonic devices…
There’s scratching at the door!
Endrid steps into the bottom right sector of the circle and walks counter-clockwise.
As she goes through the sections the glyphs are lighting up, she gets back to where she started the whole thing lights up and a void takes over the space inside the circle. Endrid done gone poof!
Rhada throws some stones in to the void, the second they go in they disappear. Rhada yells out to Endrid to no response.
>>circle of incomprehensible void continues<<
Brace tests the void with a torch, decides to go in but as he’s doing his Sylvanus thing before walking in, Ireena just jumps in. Brace follows.
Just then Bingdor’s door bursts open and some gnarly dudes walk in, telling Trieskan and Rhada they’re gonna kill them. The rest of the party jumps into the void.

>>Void Soundtrack: Airy vibes<<
We all land at the base of a snowy mountain.
It doesn’t feel like we fell any distance. In front of us is an incline 350’ high with boulders and rocks and things. At the top is a mansion, there are lights on and smoke coming out the chimney.
The other ways we look don’t seem to exist beyond a few feet, as if we are at the draw distance of an old video game.
The sky is white, the wind is howling.
At our feet is 5 shovels, 5 pairs of hiking boots and 5 piles of rope.
We all put on the gear and start hiking up the hill.
As we get close to the top, the mansion instantly blips away to the same distance it was at the beginning.
Brace tries using his shovel and starts digging around, finding some solid dirt under a plant. The plant smells like peppermint.
[Perception check time y’all] 20! 21! and…. 8 (sorry Endrid)
Rhada and Treskan see a bony dude with a viking helmet, floppy white beard and ragged armor. They’re holding a shield and a sword facing the party. It’s about 50’ away up the hill from the party.
Bone dude is walking down the mountain.
Does he seem to be a threat?
Nah, probably not.
At 30’ out, he lifts his sword, groans and a bolt of green light zaps out of the sword and starts meandering through the air at Endrid. Close miss!
[roll initiative]
Brace is still working on his hole.
Endrid runs up to the bone dude and hacks at him with the great axe
He is obliterated and his helmet rolls down the hill into the empty void.
Endrid looks through the bones, the big floppy beard is like a wig that Endrid pockets.
Brace finds an opening in the hole he’s digging. He finds a little door in the tunnel.
Brace ties one the ropes to him and Rhoda holds the other end.
Brace goes into the hole, Rhada gets pulled in afterwards. They find the entrance to the mansion in the hole in some kind of weird Alice in wonderland situation.
Bone dude reassembles and tries to attack Endrid. She doesn’t pay him any mind. Treskan reaches out and shoves the skeleton down the mountain down into the void.
The whole party goes into the hole.
They walk up to the entrance and there is a golden door and a golden gargoyle over top of it. Gargoyle starts to say “Before you can enter…enter..enter..” and then it fizzles out. Endrid hits it with a rock and we get the same lines again.
Trieskan climbs up to the gargoyle and examines it. It seems like a stone statue, nothing doing. Behind the ear there is a glyph but he can’t tell what it says.
Brace wants to tear it down, Trieskan stops the party and tries to take a look at the door first. He feels out that the gargoyle is the trap, but it’s looking like it’s kind of broken. Fuck it, let’s pull it down.
Brace lassos the gargoyle and pulls it down. It lands on the ground with a big thump. Still intact. At the top of the door, there is something glowing underneath where the gargoyle was. Treskan goes up and finds a golden glowing lollipop looking thing. As Treskan grabs the pop the doors slowly open outwards.
Inside we see a checkerboard floor foyer with cool old looking furniture, very neatly decorated. It’s lit and very clean. There’s no echo in here, just like the rest of this weird space we’ve been in since going through the portal.
We go inside and the doors close behind us. Endrid tries the doors and they don’t budge.
Brace looks into a cabinet and finds a bunch of party napkins, almost all still sealed up. In the back of the drawer is a receipt for a magic wand but the price is smudged out. Brace takes a sealed pack of napkins.
There are 3 doors in the room, not including the one we came in. Endrid checks out one of the doors. Nothing fancy.
She opens the door to the left and sees a much larger room with a spiral staircase. At the top of the stairs is an old man in a real-deal wizard getup. Big ol’ beard and all that shit. He walks down the staircase while slowly clapping.
‘Only the wisest adventurers can ever make it this far, I commend you, before I begin how’d you get through the riddle of the three doors?’
‘We won’t tell’
‘True wizards you all are. What brings you here?’
‘We are here to defeat Strahd and need your help’
‘That already happened!’
We go back and forth with him for awhile.
He seems to have the history of events backwards, that he defeated Strahd and sent him down off the bridge, instead of the other way.
Nothing is convincing him, and suddenly another door opens as dinner plates magically show up. We’re invited to dine and the wizard goes off to change for dinner. Treskan suggests we try the other doors in the foyer.
Treskan tries the right door and sees a long narrow room with workbenches and boxes and no lights.
The third door is to the dining room. We see table settings are being placed and hear a voice asking us our dietary restrictions.
The party decides to check the long hall out, it’s looking like we may be trapped in this place so we need to figure out both how to convince the wizard Strahd is still alive and also how to get out of here.
We look down the junk hall and in all the boxes are empty brand new notebooks. No pens though! Dag.
The door at the end of the hall leads to a dingy cobweb infested wooden staircase that leads down. It’s dark and looks like it is a basement access.
Everyone starts going down the staircase one by one, there is a lot of creaking and the stairs feel very weak.
Rhada decides to hang back. Treskan falls all the way down the stairs and as he gets up off the floor at the bottom, he looks around: it’s a fucking dungeon man! There’s chains and skeletons and all types of gnarly shit dude. Like woah it’s pretty creepy down here y’all….
